I'm not familiar with the options in St. Louis specifically, but you could consider looking for roles with trade showrooms or vendors. Think fabric, hardware, kitchen and bath, furniture, fine flooring, tile, lighting, paint - there are so, so many pieces that go into completing a renovation or furnishing a room and every item has to come from a source.

It would be an opportunity to learn more about the practicalities of the business, develop a level of expertise on a material or process, and connect with designers who are coming in to source for their projects.
